Tiny letters

Somehow, everyone seemed to vision enhanced but me. That’s the only explanation.

How else can I look at “NO LEFT TURN 7AM-7PM” and not see the “except for you, douchebag in front of Sean”?

Pligg Template Constants (for my reference)

Filed under: Pligg — steegness @ 10:45 pm

From the admin section of a Pligg installation (under “Modify Language”), a list of the constants used in templates, and their English defaults.

Yes, I know this matters to few of my regular readers, but given how totally unable *I* was to find a list such as this, maybe the internet will like it.

Post 500: Looking back

Filed under: Uncategorized — steegness @ 9:42 pm

The ID number on the post is higher, but if you go count — and if you do, you’ve got serious trust issues — you’ll see that is in fact the 500th post on the blog. A milestone worth celebrating, and a cause for reflection (a popular activity these days, if I’m in front of my PC long enough to make a post).

Trends I missed:

  • Walking on the sidewalk becoming passé.
  • Double-parking becoming cool.
  • Songs that have associated dances, like the Macarena.
  • Next-gen consoles. At least, back the first time “next-gen console” was coined.

Trends I started:

  • The Great Job Purge of Late 2007 (OK, maybe I was second).
  • Shakespeare at Loyola.
  • Marriage (Julie helped).

Since starting this blog nearly three years ago:

There’s probably more, but that’s a decent Greatest Hits for you.

Happy 500th, world.
