Food For Thought

Can’t win his money anymore. But he makes a point.

First, no one ever spent a sleepless night because she had millions in the bank and stocks but didn’t have her home paid off. On the other hand, if you pay off your mortgage and deprive yourself of liquidity, you could be in for some miserable times.

Productivity501 Updates To WordPress

Filed under: Reviews — steegness @ 7:23 am

I wrote about P501 before, in a review of their services in an attempt for an iPod Shuffle (because I’m a cold materialistic bastard in addition to being a consumer of productivity blogs). I don’t think I’ll ever win, as the target number of reviews was 150, and to date, there are 18. :P

Today they earn another mention because it looks like they moved off of TypePad and on to WordPress. I was tipped off by virtue of the new install pinging every trackback during import (hence the new comment on the post that’s three months old).

The main reason for the re-mention is that one of my bigger complaints with the site was that its layout and archive system both left much to be desired, owing (primarily) to the TypePad platform on which the site was hosted. Moving to WordPress solved those issues in a hurry, and the site is much more visitor-friendly now. Now you can actually explore and such. Huzzah.

New Developments

In work, I’ve been reassigned. No longer am I primarily a reporter, writing reports and doing data certification. I now am part of the data side of the house, developing the database and the information within. This is (likely) one of those “change is good” changes.

Two days until The Cash-Kester wedding. I’m still trying to figure out what, if anything, will change after the wedding. Besides the ability to file taxes together, I mean.

Work has another reduction coming up in August. I’m told by reputable sources not to fear too much.

I shot off a letter to my VP last night. The web form I used said that I could expect a private response. That will be fun, I bet.

Last but not least, I’ve started cyberstalking Zig and Lance.

Time For No Time

We’re starting up today some of the most turbulent weeks in recent memory. There’s a LOT going on over the next three weeks or so:

  • Two weddings
  • Two daughters ending the school year (on different days)
  • One daughter going away to camp for a week
  • A golf game with a tee time of 7:48 AM
  • Two incoming orders from Tanga
  • Two in-law birthdays (and no less than four birthdays of note coming up in July)
  • Bowling with Sara’s class
  • A picnic with Emma’s class
  • Possibly, a partridge in a pear tree

Wowzah.
