One Crisis Averted
Emma: “Hey mom… that lady on the gold dollar… is that Sanjaya?”
Sizzling spring, like
Ping-pong, lots of
Rain showers,
In the flowers,
Nice things,
Growing trees and flowers!

Emma now has gold posts through her earlobes, with the world-facing side adorned with small gold stars. Thus starts six months of constant earrings, and a lifetime of a new subsection of jewelry lust.
Le sigh. Le pout. Le sigh.

(cross-posted to the internal work blog)
The past three days found me in Tampa (I’m back home as of the writing of this post), and things are looking… well, simultaneously exciting and scary.
To say work has a full plate would be an understatement. Work has a seven course meal, and then biscuits and coffee back at home once the meal is over. And maybe some bacon before bed. Or during.
I’m actually kind of jazzed for that though. It’s going to give a lot of opportunities, and a lot of new knowledge.
What I’m not so jazzed about is how much the effectiveness of my job will come to depend on other people, people whose plates aren’t as full and therefore don’t feel the same kinds of pressures I’m feeling. People that won’t be fired for slowing me down when my job hangs in the balance. People not on my team and therefore out of the purview of managers and directors and etc. who can influence the folks slowing me down.
Exciting. Scary. Rollercoaster? Maybe.
(Check out my other post on this matter for a little bit of background on the video.)
