Max
Say hi to Max. Julie got me Max last weekend when I had to work. She felt sorry for me, and got me a betta (which I’ve wanted, but never strongly enough to push for one).

Yesterday, I was awarded my White Belt in Taekwando. I’m proud to say that I didn’t mess up at all, and that I broke my board on my first try, just like Emma did (so she has nothing to lord over me for years to come).
I’m in a reflective mood. That often involves stalking the internet for past friends and acquaintances.
In this particular instance, I hunted Janaki Nair, a friend and fellow thespian from my high school days. Quite enchanting, and very memorable. Is this her now? I don’t know. But I don’t think she’s an Indian professor who has written REAMS on gender relations in India (and who makes the search for what I thought would be a unique enough name to pin down very difficult).

So Monday won’t be a golf day either.
Ben’s dad still isn’t doing that grand, but this time around, it’s more due to the fact the my wife has taken up a new schedule at work that has her working on Mondays (whereas before, she was not), coupled with my mother now working a new job (and thus unavailable for childcare).
So once again, no golf. Another attempt will be scheduled, for certain, but I’m starting to get the blues.
So, while wandering through the food store, I saw the latest offering from Coke. It intrigued me enough that I puchased a four-pack (as that’s the apparent limit for drinks that are in some way “energizing”). I have not yet been intrigued enough that I have sampled one of these wares, but as soon as I do, I’ll let you — the viewers at home — in on my review.
EDIT: Surprisingly, this “fusion beverage” is not horrible. It is to Coke what chocolate mocha is to coffee: a slight twist through a tiny bit of extra flavor.
That said, I won’t be chugging these bad boys anytime soon, but their taste is worthy of other people making a similar attempt, if so intrigued.
There’s a headline you don’t see everyday, and I’m proud to repeat it here so that it can make the most of its limited-time run.
Hey Dad…
Thanks for being there for me (even if not always in the fashion I might have preferred). While I often questioned the application of such, I never once questioned how much you loved me, or how much you still do. I try to be the father to my kids that you were to me: role model, provider, and their biggest supporter through everything they do.
Happy Birthday, Dad.
