I’m happy to see w00t made number three, even though the proper spelling did not.
Words rock.

So while I set things up to be able to post remotely, my phone was uncooperative, so this is the first post made since returning from Emporium. It is good to be home.
My wife commented that she often forgets the degree to which I am a technologically-based lifeform until we go to visit her grandparents. They’re wonderful people, but they live in a town that had a large celebration when they got their second traffic light some ten years ago. I’ve never lived more than three turns off of a four-lane road. I spent my first seventeen years on such a four lane road. You don’t get to four lanes until you’re at least 50 miles removed from Emporium.
But the roads aren’t really what bothers me, understand; it’s what they’re indicative of. Things like “civilization”, “high speed wireless internet access”, and so on and so forth. I miss those things. I love those things. I need those things.
Since I’ll be away from civilization save for a cell phone and whatever
other portable technology I can schlep along, I’ve tried to set up a
little something to be able to blog from the phone. That won’t be
easy, but if I can immerse myself in technology for a bit, I might feel
better about life.
So yeah. Let’s hope this works.
So the man who just mowed our lawn brought along a pair of lawn shears and is trimming down grass that Julie would’ve had to weedwhack (at least, he’s doing this for the front yard). Julie is extremely lucky in this regard.
How much is my time worth?
When it comes to mowing the lawn, that number is apparently “more than twenty dollars”, as $20.00 is what I just paid a nice man to mow my lawn. I do so hope he comes back every couple of weeks throughout the summer; I’ll gladly forgo a video game or two over the summer months if it means I don’t have to mow my damn lawn.

One down, one to go.
Did the parent interview today at Kennedy Krieger for Sara. About 90 minutes of more or less the same types of questions I’ve been answering since we started down this road. There were a few I hadn’t heard before, like “Does you child have a full range of facial expressions?”, but they were few and far between.
It did my heart good that I was able to answer in the negative for a large section dealing with freaky repetitive behavior and rituals. Sure, Sara’s got issues, but OCD-like behavior isn’t one of them.
Sara goes in for four hours on Friday for her “interview”. The KK Prologue continues then, I suppose.
School is now in session. Or it will be at 8PM Wednesday.
I’ll be taking some Natural Selection newbies on a tour of the game (see here) to help them get acquainted with the wonders that lie before them. Open to the public, so come get some.
The back of my right wrist is peeling, as if post-suntan. Very interesting.
Well, interesting to me at least.
I get this a lot at work.
There’s something — usually a report — and there’s a need to make some “minor changes” to it. But whatever the reason, the “minor changes” were the last thing ever expected when the original was made, and the “minor changes” require a complete overhaul of the original.
Unbridled joy, right there.
