Via The Global Wii Experience Website, I learned today that the full version of the Wii web browser is forthcoming. That rocks. Well, it rocks for me, and Rick, and other Wii owners, but maybe not for everyone else.

I’ve had a couple of hard drives fail on me in my days. I’ve been more fortunate than some in that regard, but I’ve been far from untouchable.
I have a local solution in place (via SyncBack and an extra HDD) to satisfy most needs, but there are some things I want to offload offsite. No keys to the vault or anything, but stuff like family pictures and such that Julie would shoot me for losing.
And so I pimp Mozy (use this link and we both get extra space), an automated remote backup solution. Because sometimes, you want your wife not to yell at you.

As you might have noticed on the right, there’s a “Feedshare” thing going on over there now. It’s a feature of Google Reader, a service I find myself abusing more and more as time wears on.
For those still hiding under a tech rock, most content sites (including this one!) syndicate their content using (most likely) one of two methods (or both): RSS and Atom (slightly different standards, but functionally the same). The theory behind both is the same; make a stripped down version of what you publish so that others can gather it more easily, should they choose.
Google Reader is an online RSS reader, and I’ve been using it to keep tabs on just about everything everywhere that has an feed. Through the magic of Google, I can mark the stuff I find interesting and it pops up over there on the right. Mindless miniblogging, sorta.

So I put some ads on the site, in case you hadn’t noticed. I mentioned the book ads a while back, and I stuck Google ads at the bottom too (and I may move them to the top eventually).
Do I expect to make any money at all? No, not really. Mainly, I was curious what kind of stuff a context-sensitive ad scheme would pull up for this place.
And the answer is Best Of collections and things related to finding your soulmate who doesn’t hack up a lung. Now I know.
For the nonce, the shoutbox is off. I just upgraded the software on the core of the site, and the shoutbox is not playing nicely with it, so I’m going to pull it down and tinker elsewhere for a bit until I get it going again.

If you’re not a regular, recent events lead me to believe you were drawn here due to a VTunnel reference. The aforementioned events would also lead me to think that you’re seeking some kind of way around a school proxy for the purposes of littering the internet with your myspace account.
From the spelling and wording of some of the shoutbox requests I’ve received, I offer the following advice to you who would seek to run an end-around on the educational system…
STOP IT. You can’t spell. You can barely form a coherent sentence. Instead of trying to cheat the education system so you can thank Weird Al for adding you (because you and Weird Al are soooooooo close), go find the nearest English teacher, slap him for not teaching you better, and then fall prostrate at his feet begging forgiveness and guidance in the ways of grammar and spelling.
